  • Should be weeding combined with fertilizing times to increase fertilizer efficiency.

  • Should be fertilizing timely and properly follow recommended.

  • In the dry season, to add some micronutrients fertilizer: MgSO4 (2 kg), MnSO4 (4 kg), Borax (1,5 kg)/1000m2  basal in soil or used Magnisal, Botrac… spray to the leaves.

2. Cut the tops: To abundant harvest, should be cut these tops when there are 5 – 7 leaves on the seedling.

3. Vine Training: when the plants have branches, should guide them upwards to the trellis like herringbone shape to save space and to facilitate the plants protection, as well as set more fruit.

V/ Plant protection:

* Damping off:

+ The disease thrives in the soil with moist, hot, tight and squash, poor drainage, overflow, especially on untreated soil from the previous crop..

+ Soil should being treatment before planting, cultivating and draining water if field is stagnant.

+ Remove all of diseased plant, using lime to prevent disease spread.

+ Use chemicals contain active substance such as Metalaxyl, Mancozeb, or Copper to treatment when the disease appearing.

* Bacterial wilt:

+ The disease is caused by parasitic bacteria on the stem and roots under the ground.

+ The disease thrives in the soil poor drainage, overflow...

+ When you detecting the disease in the field, remove and destroy the infected plant, using lime to prevent disease spread.

+ Soil treatment by chemicals contain active substance Coppers: Copper oxychloride 85%, Copper hydroxide, Bordeaux 60%+ Zinc 25%…

+ Spray conduct active substance to stump such as Oxolinic acid , Kasugamycin 75%...

* Downy mildew:

 Damaging all the crop, if not timely treatment the disease spreads rapidly and kills the plants.

Preventing and treating: after planting 25 – 30 days, should spraying prevent every 5 – 6 days, rotating with the following chemicals: Cymoxanil 8% + Mancozeb 64%, Metiram Complex (min 85%), Ethaboxam (min 99,6%), Citrus Oil, Chlorothalonil (min 98%),....

* Anthracnose:

Preventing and treating by rotating spray with the following chemicals: Propinep (min 80%),Chlorothalonil (min 98%), Mancozeb 64%,…

* Borer group:

Is harmful in vegetative period.

Preventing and treating by rotating spray in late afternoon with the following chemicals: Chlorantraniliprole (min 93%), Indoxarb, Emamectin Benzoate (Avermectin B1a 90% + Avermectin B1b 10% ), Chlorfenapyr (min 94%), Flubendiamide (min 95%), …

* Leafminer:

Very harmful in the dry season, when the weather is dry.

Preventing and treating by rotating spray with the following chemicals: Cyromazine (min 95%), Imidacloprid, Alphacypermethrin,….

* Suck group:

Thrips, hoppers, aphids... suck resin and transmitting Viral disease.

Preventing and treating by rotating spray with the following chemicals to the lower side of the leaves and on top of the plants: Chlorpyrifos Methyl (min 96%), Dinotefuran (min 89%), Clothianidin,….
