PLANTING GUIDE CABBAGE F1 – BLUE ROSE 346

                        (GOLDEN COIN SEEDS)

IFeatures:

 - Strong plant, tolerant to Fusarium wilt and black rot.

 - Harvesting: 75 - 80 days after sowing.

 - Head: Semi-globe shape, dense, good quality, crispy.

 - Yield: 1.5 – 2 kg/head.

III/ Cropping season:

  • Southern of Vietnam:
    • Early season: sowing in July or August, transplanting in the end of August or September, harvesting at November or December.
    • Main season: sowing in September or October, transplanting in the middle of October or November, harvesting at January or February next year.
    • Lately season: sowing in November, transplanting in the middle of December, harvesting at February or March next year.
  • Tay Nguyen of Vietnam: sowing in September or November.

IV/ Sowing seeds:

  • Sowing seeds:
    • After sowing seeds, cover seeds with straw and irrigate enough moisture.
    • About 3 – 5 days after sowing, irrigate 1 – 2 times/day, after the seeds germinate over ground, stop to irrigation in 1 – 2 days, then irrigate 2 days per once.
  • Remove off types and transplanting:
    • When plants have 2 – 3 true leaves, remove all infected plants, off types, leave density 3 – 4 cm/plant. After removal, combine with side dressing (water mixing muck), don’t use Urea.
    • Standard of good variety: round blades, short and thick nodes. When plants have 5 – 6 true leaves, can transplanting.

V/ Planting and maintenance:

1. Fertilizers (for 000m2):

Fertilizer application for cultivation depends on geographic conditions, however, we recommend applying the following guides are applied very effectively to many growing areas for you refer and apply:

* Notes:

  • Should be applied lime at tillage to increase fertilizer efficiency.
  • Side dressing 1: fertilizing to foots combined with digging.
  • Side dressing 2 and 3: mixing fertilizers with water and applied to foots.
  • Should be weeding combined with fertilizing times to increase fertilizer efficiency.

2. Irrigation:

  • Don’t use waste water, pond water has not been treated to irrigate.
  • After planting, it is necessary to irrigate immediately, twice daily in early morning and late afternoon until green restore, then 3 - 5 days per once depending on soil moisture.
  • The side dressing must be combined to weeding, digging, watering.
  • When plants start to grow new leaves and develop heads (about 30 – 35 days after transplanting), can irrigating ditch, then drain immediately to avoid waterlogging.
  • When plants start forming heads to harvesting, pay attention to soil moisture, if the field is too dry before irrigate, cabbage can be cracked, affecting quality. Stop irrigation before harvesting from 5 to 7 days.

VI/ Plant protection:

1. Insect pests:

  • Cabbage moth (Plutella xylostella):
    • The most dangerous for cabbage, damage from October to March next year. They can acquaint quickly with chemicals, so must use rotating chemicals.
    • Before transplanting in the field 1 – 2 days, should be spray the following chemicals Emamectin benzoate (Avermectin B1a 90% + Avermectin B1b 10%) hoặc Lufenuron (min 96%)  at level 0,1%.
    • In the growing stage of plants can use the following chemicals: Biological drugs (Bacillus thuringiensis, Azadirachtin, Beauveria bassiana,…); Chemotherapy (Chlorantraniliprole, Flubendiamide (min 95%), Emamectin benzoate (Avermectin B1a 90% + Avermectin B1b 10%),…) and herbal chemicals (Matrine, Azadirachtin, Retenone,…). The concentration and duration of isolation of each chemical must comply with the instructions inscribed on the package.
    • Rotate with rice or other groups of vegetables (Leguminosae, Solanaceae). In the same field, tomato can be intercropped with Cruciferae to limit damage of Cabbage moth.
  • Other insects: caterpillars (Pieris rapae), tobacco cutworm (Spodoptera liture), aphis (Aphis sp.), need to prevention them combination with Cabbage moth control regularly. If have just aphid, can use the following chemicals: Chlorantraniliprole, Flubendiamide (min 95%), Emamectin benzoate (Avermectin B1a 90% + Avermectin B1b 10%) ,

2. Diseases:

  • Main diseases on Cabbage: bacteria wilt (Erwinia carotovora sp.), fungal disease (Selrotinia selerotioum), leaf spots (Cereospora sp.).
  • Prevent disease by not leave field to be too damp or waterlogging; regularly cleaning filed, weeding, collecting old leaves ... making field clean and airy.
  • Can use the following chemicals:
  • Bacteria wilt (Erwinia carotovora sp.): Sitrus oil, Fosetyl-aluminium (min 95%), Cymoxanil 8% + Mancozeb 64%,…
    • Leaf spots (Cereospora sp.): Mancozeb (min 85%), Coper Oxychloride 50% + Metalaxyl 8%, Fosetyl-aluminium (min 95%),…
    • The concentration and duration of isolation of each chemical must comply with the instructions inscribed on the packages./
